This month I am taking part in a month of drawing, posting images every day. For today's image I have drawn a piece of seaweed that I found on the beach at Porthcawl. This Bladderwrack has an incredible structure of bead-like bladders full of air. But look under a magnifiying glass, and it's almost antique gold in colour. Today's image is in pencil, but I think to really achieve the bulbous effect of the bladders I am going to use ink and gouache in a further study. I also found with this Bladderwrack a collection of about five crab legs - which I am going to try to draw for tomorrow's sketch.
