In this work Rebecca takes something known and recognised mainly for its colour, and uses an intricate, monochrome medium to offer a fresh and unusual perspective.

The creature's dynamic position - with wings aloft - is in marked contrast to the traditional, flattened pose of the collected butterfly. By subverting these conventions, Rebecca is able to highlight delicate, beautiful details of the insect that may often be overlooked.
