View Subterranea: Gloucester Road

One of an ongoing series of original wood engravings exploring the unique atmosphere and architecture of the stations of the London Underground.

This work shows a view from the pedestrian tunnel of the westbound Piccadilly line platform at Gloucester Road. The rails are hidden by the angle of view, and there's no train, yet the distinctive elements of the London Underground are present and unmistakable.
